Preparations Continue!

One week left to go until the second Search for Spring tour starts. I had to shovel another 30cm of Snow off the roof. The tarp that Alex and I installed after removing the previous one metre of snow was only a little helpful. The 3 inches of hard ice we couldn't move a week ago had been released by running the furnace for a week but did still leave very slippery little ice crystals all over the top of the trailer making the footing a little tricky at times. My son Alex was just across the driveway from me shoveling 120cm of snow off the roof of his house — this has been the most snowy winter here since the 70’s. The temperature has finally made it close to the freezing point the last couple of days and ice dams were forcing water into his plumbing stack and around his chimney. After this we moved the trailer out of this driveway and the 17km up to our place in Round Lake for final prep. Rrainy and I now have a stupid busy week ahead.
